Being under the gun, I’m kinda going on internet hiatus: taking a break from First Things for several weeks (although I’ll blog there if something comes up), cutting back on other stuff. But I’m still around if anyone needs to get hold of me: lahuizenga at gmail.
I’m also doing a bit of speaking in coming weeks, which is fun. I spoke at the Argument of the Month Club in South St Paul last week Tuesday, and March 1-2 I’ll be speaking at St. Mary’s parish in Bismarck on “The Holy Trinity and Human Love: Living Our Vocations“. Here’s the description:
In the midst of a suffering world in which faith, hope, and love often seem in short supply, in which we live as broken people, and in which we often experience the hurt of broken relationships, God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit calls us into intimate friendship with him as we live out our lives in a variety of vocations: as parents and children, as married and single, as clergy, religious, and lay. Please join us for our Lenten Parish Retreat during this Year of Faith as Dr. Leroy Huizenga, Chair of the Theology Department at the University of Mary, leads us in exploring how we might experience the depths of the love of the Holy Trinity and be empowered to serve God’s mission of love in the world.
I’m also speaking on Dei Verbum to Mary students Thursday March 21. I’ll be in Minot speaking on ecumenism and the second Vatican Council Saturday, April 6, and then I’ve got a couple engagements brewing in Devil’s Lake and Fargo to speak in April on faith in the New Testament and the early Church.
On that note, if you need someone to speak on something, I’m available and willing to travel; here’s some basic info on topics I can cover.
